Because I ate a lot of stuff that was not as filling, but had many more calories, I guess. Lots of cheese and fried potatoes. (TOGETHER). Pigs brain and eyes, which are FULL of calories, but are not so bulky.

I see but am a little confused. If you are doing a 1000 calorie a day deficit and stuffed at a level below that, How did you eat 1000 calories a day more before without being "stuffed"? Anyway, listen to your body, it will let you know if it requires more calories or not. Generally, stop eating if you are not hungry. Avoid junk foods, processed foods, sugar and fake sugars, vegetable oils(other than olive oil and coconut oil), artificial anything as they mess with your hormones and increase your appetite. Best of luck on your weight loss / fat loss goals!

Hmm. Thank you.

I ask because for a 1000 deficit, I am supposed to eat 1,870 cals. per day. (average 5 kilo per month drop).

But I am stuffed full on 1,500. To eat any more would LITERALLY, be "forcing it down"

At first glance they are contradictory, but the "cut back no more than 500 calories per day" is a general rule of diet tips. Of course if you are not hungry, stop eating, unless you know you are consuming far fewer calories than needed for health. The 500 calorie suggestion is the equivalent of 1 pound weight loss a week - easily achieved without going hungry and by diet alone. The 500 calorie reduction general rule is for the day's total calorie consumption - not a per meal recommendation. If you were consuming an unhealthy 10,000 calories a day, of course you could cut back much more than 500 calories a day.

The best approach is to eat healthy and get some exercise. A slight calorie reduction and the metabolism boosting exercise are the ultimate weight loss tag team to lose fat. Muscle burns fat at rest, add more muscle, burn more fat.

You say in "diet tips"; To lose fat you must cut back your caloric intake. Cut back no more than 500 calories a day or your body will go into “starvation mode” and slow your metabolism to store fat for a potential famine (the body anticipates this)."

YET, we are also told "if you have eaten half your meal, and just do not feel you can eat any more, DON'T. Just send the plate back!".

HOW do these two "tips" fit together?

There would appear to be a break down of logic between the two.
