Weight Loss Tips
All of the above factors affect how your body stores fat or burns fat for energy. The amount of calories you consume is a choice. The rest of the above weight loss tips is knowledge that most people are unaware of. Any fast weight loss plan should address all of these factors – they do not only add up to fat loss and lost pounds, they combine exponentially for the fastest fat burning possible.
- Slightly reduce your caloric intake (unless you are way over consuming, then reduce more). If you cut back too dramatically on your calories, your body will not have sufficient nutrients to function at peak. Your body will also go into a survival mode, anticipating a famine and will store fat instead of burning it by lowering your metabolism. This is a built in survival mechanism that has served mankind well in times of food shortages, not necessary in modern times.
- Increasing your metabolic rate burns more fat for energy. Your body burns more calories even when at rest (BMR – Basal Metabolic Rate). The basal metabolic rate declines with age, as does muscle mass, hormone imbalances… This is why most individuals gain fat as they age. Thermogenesis is the body burning calories to maintain body temperature – part of the function of BMR. A couple of metabolism boosters you can use is Oolong tea (any tea will work, but Oolong has less caffeine and you can drink much more without affecting your sleep) and ice water (your body must warm the ice water to 98.6 degrees and burns calories to do this).
- Hormonal imbalances can be a major factor in weight gain. As we age past 25. our hormone levels generally decline and/or lose their natural balance that helps maintain peak efficiency… Cortisol is one hormone that increases with age and contributes to weight gain. Cortisol is mainly produced in the adrenal glands as a result of stress.
- Endocrine disrupters adversely affect hormone levels. Toxins (pesticides, herbicides, BPA – Bisphenol A which mimics the hormone estrogen), excitotoxins – MSG, Aspertame and other “fake sugars”, “fake fats”, chemical preservatives and colors… All these toxins throw off our body’s hormones and contribute to weight gain.
- By increasing muscle mass, you also increase your BMR or basal metabolic rate. Muscle burns more calories than fat, even when at rest. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. By exercising and growing your muscles, you also release HGH (human growth hormone), IGF-1 (Insulin Growth Factor) which accelerate growth, healing and boost your immune system. High intensity exercise is the fastest way to grow muscle (not aerobic exercise).
- Your body requires adequate sleep to repair, recharge and regenerate your body. Some people require more sleep than others. It is very important you receive the amount of sleep your body requires. Sleep affects hormone and energy levels, Deep sleep, REM (dream state) and even deeper delta brain wave (dreamless sleep) which is the brain frequency associated with the release of HGH or Human Growth Hormone.
In summary, you want to incorporate these quick weight loss diet tips:
Reduce or eliminate empty calories (junk foods / highly processed foods). That means avoid sugary foods (especially HFCS – High Fructose Corn Syrup), starchy foods, white flour, white sugar, white rice (these are high glycemic foods that spike your blood sugar levels, create an insulin spike and causes weight gain). Incorporate healthy foods – a high protein – low carbohydrate diet. Replace unhealthy snacks with healthy snacks like vegetables, fruits, nuts… In other words, replace your unhealthy snacks and foods with a healthy high fiber diet. Use an appetite suppressant if you have difficulty controlling your appetite.
Increase your metabolism through tea and/or tea extracts, supplement with a whole food vitamin/mineral, iodine or iodide for thyroid support and any other natural metabolism booster you wish ( Irvingia gabonensis seed extract, Fucoxanthin, garcinia cambodgia fruit extract, chromium picolinate) – all excellent weight loss supplements / metabolism boosters).
Correct hormonal imbalances. Take a supplement called DIM – Diindolylmethane – a phytonutrient indole found in cruciferous vegetables which promotes a beneficial estrogen metabolism in both women and men.
Detoxify endocrine disrupters and other toxins that affect hormone levels and efficient functioning of all bodily processes.
Good detoxifiers include:
MSM – Methylsulfonylmethane
Milk Thistle – liver detoxifier
Dandelion leaf extract – liver tonic
Chlorella – single cell algae – eliminates pesticides and heavy metals
ALA – Alpha Lipoic Acid – aids in detox
Tea extract (usually green tea extract)
Curcumin – a Tumeric extract – potent antioxidant
Increase muscle mass through high intensity exercise – weights, wind sprints, bicycling, running uphill – any “burst” exercises that create an oxygen deprivation (makes you breath hard). These types of exercise increase muscle mass, increase metabolism and increase the release of HGH or Human Growth Hormone.
Get enough sleep. If you have difficulty falling asleep, do not eat 2 or more hours before bedtime. Try Chamomile or Camomile tea or melatonin supplement to ease into sleep.
These are all powerful weight loss tips that address many issues that contribute to weight gain. Implement what you think you could use, if it works for you, use it.
